I have left Auckland, heading north up the west coast to the northern most point of New Zealand, Cape Reinga (Ree-ang-a). Or at least I think that's how you pronounce it. Anyways, the lovely Jane and her flatmates have made it hard to leave Auckland. Their generous hospitality has been over the top. I've had a fine place to stay, well-cooked meals every night, and great company. Jane has made adjusting to Kiwi life a breeze compared to what it would be like on my own, even though everyone seems very friendly. I've been on the fast track to getting my feet on the ground here with her cheerful personality and smile, bringing me to all the right places, showing me where to shop, teaching me how to drive on the right side of the road, and by right I mean correct, which is left. You tracking? And offering heaps (a common Kiwi adjective) of advise and extra gear for the continued journey. I have certainly been taken care of.
If its pictures you are waiting for, I suspect they are just on the horizon, so stay tuned.
Much more to come,
Cheers!
